Kings Beach Caloundra

In terms of the combination of both physical beauty and sheer convenience, Kings Beach in Caloundra is hard to beat. Situated just out from the centre of Caloundra proper and in close proximity to both plentiful accommodation options and cafes/restaurants, it's an excellent multi-purpose beach that has seen its foreshore area undergo significant investment and redevelopment over the previous decade. Kings Beach is a highly family-friendly beach that's typically safe for swimming and offers good protection from wind conditions, is well patrolled, and has several playgrounds with which to keep the little ones entertained. The beach's surrounds are decked out with plenty of amenities, too, with the likes of public barbecues, toilets, change rooms, showers and more that are all typically clean and well-maintained, making it possible to spend a day here whether you're planning to self-cater or duck across to the nearby shops for a burger or some fish and chips. The beach itself is likewise quite beautiful, with quality clean sand and clear waters. Kings Beach is generally OK for beginning surfers at one end - although veterans may find it lacking - while the other end is mostly flat and thus better for families. Views out from the beach to the open ocean can be quite impressive too, with frequent large ships passing by as well as a good chance of seeing whales breaching during migratory season (July to October). Plus, for days when the swimming conditions aren't ideal in the ocean, Kings Beach has a fenced saltwater pool accessible to the public for a protected swim.
