What you can expect

Located just over an hour south from central Cairns, Josephine Falls is a great, free natural attraction in the region. With a walking trail, slide and swimming hole, Josephine Falls is filled with adventure for all ages to enjoy. Nestled in the Wooroonooran National Park there are a number of walking trails winding through the area, however if you're looking to just explore the Falls the easy grade Josephine Falls walking trail is the way to go. From the car park you can embark on a journey through the rainforest to reach viewing platforms of the falls and freshwater swimming holes. The track only stretches 700 metres one way is paved trail making it suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The water is just begging you to jump in and if you climb out of the pool up the slanted rock it acts as a natural water slide proving to be fun for the whole family. This is a popular destination for locals as well as tourists so in the warmer months be prepared for larger crowds visiting the area.
