Auckland Art Gallery

Since 1888 Auckland Art Galley has had its doors open wide to public and has now since grown to be a pillar in Auckland's cultural scene. With an ever growing in house collection as well as travelling exhibits from around the world, Auckland Art Gallery is a first class gallery and a haven for art lovers visiting the region. Since the original opening, the gallery has grown their collection to include around 16,000 works mainly those of European and British art. Despite entry to the gallery being free of charge, some travelling exhibits are at a fee. The gallery also runs a successful school holiday program for the young ones, so if your visit to Auckland and the gallery are during the break your kids can enjoy art classes and more in the child-friendly studio workshop. These programs are suitable for children aged from 5 to 13 years, however bookings are essential as spaces are in hot demand.
