One of the most renowned walking experiences in the world awaits in New Zealand - the Milford Track - and this tour package will transport you from Queenstown for a guided adventure that will give you the chance to experience a firsthand taste of this stunning track up close. To kick off the journey you'll join your guide in Queenstown then take a short coach trip to hop aboard an enjoyable one-hour scenic lake cruise to where the Milford Track begins.
We commence the walk with a leisurely stroll via the Glade Burn to historic Glade House where we stop to enjoy lunch and a hot drink to revitalise. We then continue on, walking alongside the Clinton River's emerald waters before crossing a bridge and strolling through an ancient beech forest as your experienced nature guide explains the history of the track while pointing out native bird and plant life. Itinerary
- Experience some of the Milford Track’s highlights on a one-day guided adventure to explore Glade Burn, the Clinton River and ancient beech forest.
- The Milford Track is renowned for its dramatic alpine scenery, clear rivers and dense rainforest.
- Join your Nature Guide in Te Anau and take a short coach trip to Te Anau Downs. From here, you’ll enjoy a one hour scenic lake cruise to the head of Lake Te Anau to the start of the track. Begin with a gentle stroll from Glade Wharf, following the Clinton River and the Glade Burn to historic Glade House for a picnic lunch (included).
- Then cross a swing bridge and walk through ancient beech forest and grassy flats. A specialist Nature Guide will explain the track’s history and point out native birds and plants as they lead a 4 – 5 hour leisurely walk on a gentle gradient (9-11 kms return) with a maximum of 12 walkers per guide.
- Following the guided walk, return by catamaran and then coach to Te Anau.
