Rottnest Island 14,000ft Tandem Skydive
Benn Tudor
Perth Experience Expert
Rottnest Island is a beautiful destination to visit and explore, but seeing it from above gives it a whole new light. When Experience Oz asked me to skydive over Rottnest Island I jumped (pun intended) at the opportunity! A few days later, my ticket was booked and the excitement was building.
Located on this beautiful Western Australian island, I was kitted up and taken on a journey 14,000ft into the air. Read about my experience with Skydive Geronimo here.
How to get there
By boat: Getting to Rottnest Island requires a ferry ride from the mainland, either from Perth, Fremantle or Hillarys Boat Harbour.

Thrilling & rewarding experience
What you’ll do
Travel to the island & explore
My day started with watching the sunrise as I took the ferry from Hillarys Boat Harbour to Rottnest. Something I’d recommend is you choose a day with perfect weather as cloud cover means you will have to wait until it is safe to jump. Waiting on Rottnest Island was easy though, exploring the bays and sneaking in a quokka selfie!
Gear up & fly up
The Geronimo team called as soon as the clouds had passed and it was go-time. There was no wind on the day so the ocean was incredibly calm and the view on the way up was amazing; I was so consumed by the view of the island that I could’ve forgotten I was about to jump out of a plane!
Take the leap
Once we reached 14,000 feet, it was time to jump. Freefalling was a massive rush and I couldn’t help but smile the whole way down. After the parachute was deployed, we cruised down to Thompson Bay, getting to enjoy the view for a second time.
