Haba Dive Boat “Evolution” Haba conducts snorkelling and Scuba dive trips to two locations on the outer Great Barrier Reef each day aboard their fast, state-of-the-art, wave-piercing catamaran, Evolution. Colonies of colourful hard and soft corals at the dive sites provide homes to a vibrant assortment of reef life, including giant clams and eels. Turtles, dolphins, sharks and rays are regularly seen in addition to the reef’s traditional fish species and passing pelagic schools of tuna, barracuda and mackerel. Having operated out of Port Douglas for 24 years, Haba is one of the longest serving dive boat operators in North Queensland. It has gained the distinguished Ecotourism Certification in recognition of its responsible, best practices. Each day Haba selects two of the best sites from four reefs, according to conditions. By visiting two only sites gives guests the benefits of two reef scenes, while enabling them more time in and less time on the water, even though Evolution is uber quick. For those preferring dry feet, you can view the underwater scenery through a glass bottom boat. Included in your fare are: • 5 hours diving on the outer Great Barrier Reef Evolution departs daily at 8.30 a.m. from Marina Mirage, returning 4.30 p.m. Please note the glass bottom boat tours are not included in the standard fare. A Marine Park entry charge of $5.50 is payable on board. |
