Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Nowhere in the world is there an eco-journey equalling the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
Riding on it is a unique experience, as you venture over, within, and under the canopy of a tropical rainforest, where you can smell, see and hear the essence of the diverse eco-systems within the various levels of the spectacular habitats.
Over 7.5 kms, the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glides you into the world of a lush rainforest, introducing you to its inhabitants, and the lush flora and spectacular views. From the base station you ascend to the Red Peak mountain station, deep within the forest, where you can debark and stroll along the 175 metre boardwalk, while listening to the guide’s commentary.
From there you descend to Barron Falls station, to spend time at the Interpretation Centre, and wander the paths to the scenic lookouts of the Barron River Gorge and its waterfalls. A ten minute ascent to Kuranda completes one of your most intriguing and fascinating 2 hour journeys in your life. Unless, of course, you take the return journey.
