MOUNT COOK DAY TOUR EX QUEENSTOWN TO CHRISTCHURCH
Mount Cook is a truly awe-inspiring sight and an exploration of the Mt Cook National Park is a must-experience when travelling the south island. On this full day Mount Cook tour, explore not only the park, but also travel through spectacular scenery and visit Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo and other highlights.
Travelling from Queenstown, you drive through the impressive rugged landscapes over the Lindis Pass into the beautiful Mackenzie Country. From there, you enter the Aoraki/ Mt Cook National Park, home to over thirty 3,000 metre high peaks, five of New Zealand’s largest glaciers and its highest mountain, Mount Cook, standing at 3,751 metre. Enjoy lunch (own expense) in the midst of this amazing alpine landscape.
In the afternoon, pass Lake Pukaki on the way to Lake Tepake, a stunning glacial-fed lake, where you enjoy views of the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd and the Southern Alps mountain range. Finally, continuing through the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch, where your full day tour concludes.
