If you are staying in the CBD, you will find that most of the shops, restaurants, bars and attractions are within walking distance, and as for those that aren't, well they are simply a short tram, bus or train ride away. All three forms of transport are easy and reliable to use and run throughout city. You will be able to get around Melbourne easily and at a cheaper rate than the other forms of transportation.
You will only need one type of ticket for all three forms of transport, a Metcard. For more information call 131 638.
Taxi
It is always easy to spot a cab (bright yellow) in Melbourne and there is always one around to hail from the road or you will come across many taxi ranks around the city. Alternatively you could always call and book a taxi.

Car Rental
You will find a number of car rental companies in the city. Keep in mind that when driving in the city you may have to perform a hook-turn occasionally as the tram lines use the same roads as the cars. The minimum age to rent a car is 25, however some companies will rent to people below 25 usually with additional surcharges and restrictions.
