
Getting to Launceston

Take a direct flight or a scenic ferry ride to Launceston! Once there, there are several options to get where you're going, including shuttle buses, car hire and taxis.
Air
The Launceston airport is located on the outskirts of Launceston and is around 15km, or a 10-minute drive, away from the City Centre. It provides a variety of services and most of the major domestic airlines operate flights to Launceston daily. There are regular direct flights between Launceston and Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Sea
If you would like to take the scenic route to Launceston, there are car and passenger ferries that will take you there. A cruise will be an overnight journey and you will dock at Devonport, from where you can take a bus or rent a car to get to Launceston.

Drive
The following options are methods of getting from the airport or marina to your accommodation:
Airport Shuttle
There is an airport shuttle that operates to and from the airport and CBD and surrounding areas. Expect to pay $14 one way or $24 return.

There is also a shuttle bus service that operates to and from the airport, the North West Coast and the nearby regions. Door-to-door service is available.

Taxi
Another option for getting to and from the airport is to use a taxi service. Expect to pay around $30 to $35 to get to the CBD from the airport.
