Hobart's city centre is located in a beautiful location, overlooking the harbour that stretches out into the waters of the Derwent River to the North, and the glittering Sandy Bay to the South, which continues on to flow out into the ocean. To the West, the majestic sight of Mount Wellington can be seen, which combines with the aforementioned water to give Hobart a unique combination of scenery that adds to the charm of Tasmania's capital. The city is also dotted by a series of parks, nature reserves, and gardens reflective of the general greenery that play a large role in giving Tasmania its official slogan of "The Natural State.
Hobart has an international airport that is located some distance to the East of the city's Central Business District; reaching the airport by car from the city centre takes approximately half an hour.
