Southern Vineyards Tour

Take a tour to both enjoy the wines and enjoy the scenery in this area full of green pastureland! An ideal half or full-day tour destination, depending how long you choose to linger amongst the vines. The Coal River region reflects Southern Tasmania's cool climate that produces classic varieties and is especially acclaimed for its superior Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. One of the earliest areas used by the first British settlers other than Hobart, the name "Coal River" is a reflection of the large deposits of coal in the region. Tasmania's wine-friendly weather has a long growing season and a gentle, gradual ripening of the grapes which allows for the development of complicated flab ours in the suit.

The Coal Valley is sheltered from strong winds and is gently sloping with a warming North-by-North-Easterly aspect, balanced with cooling sea breezes from the nearby Storm Bay. Take one of these organised Coal Valley tours that enable you to really enjoy your sampling as you travel from winery to winery and treat your palate!
