The markets are held during Darwin's dry season between April and October every year on Thursdays between 5:00pm and 10:00pm, and on Sundays between 4:00pm and 9:00pm.
The Mindil Beach Markets also contain numerous stalls with food from multiple countries that offer fare from regions such as Greece, India, Turkey, South America, Indonesia and other parks of South-East Asia as well as North Africa. Some of the best Asian food in the city may also be found on sale here. If you're feeling adventurous, you may also wish to try some of the Australian Top End's more exotic foods including kangaroo, crocodile, camel and buffalo.
The markets are also the ideal place to go if you are in search of hand-made crafts, indigenous art, and other souvenirs or trinkets that represent the history and culture of the Northern Territory and its various peoples.
