Broome is a town that, despite its small size, has remained a tourist hotspot for years due to its convenient proximity to some of Western Australia's most stunning natural geographical features. The small pearling town acts as a natural base for those visitors wishing to head to some of the Kimberley Region's most iconic natural sites such as the Geikie and Windjana Gorges, the rugged peninsula of Cape Leveque, and the golden-white sands of Cable Beach. The beach itself is situated a mere seven kilometres from Broome's centre and can be reached by travelling along a well-maintained bitumen road, and four-wheel-drive vehicles are permitted to be driven onto the beach from the car park. Broome has an international airport that sits just to the town's North, and which provides transport to several domestic and regional towns and cities throughout Australia.
