Brisbane, Queensland's capital, is a large, sprawling city that is dissected into two parts by the large path carved out by the Brisbane River, with the city's Central Business District sitting close to the river itself, and many of its largest businesses located close enough to get river views from their office buildings. There are two main routes across the river can be accessed via the Story Bridge and driving along the Pacific Motorway. The terrain of the city itself is quite hilly, and if you are travelling on foot you may find yourself heading up and down steep slopes on a regular basis, even within the city centre - this effect gets even more amplified as you head towards the outer suburbs, especially those in the West, so bringing comfortable walking shoes is often a good idea!
