First of all congratulations to the breakdancing troop “Beat the Streets”, the 2012 winners of the Australian Street Entertainers Championships! This year’s three-day competition was a complete success with tens of thousands of people pouring into Surfers Paradise to check out the talent! SEAFIRE went off with a big bang – with three professional pyro’s putting on a massive show on the Surfers Paradise foreshore with the beach markets in full swing! This weekend the Surfers Paradise Festival continues with the Oneway Street Party featuring groovy bands, vintage fashions and cutting edge cultural expression. This laneway-style street event transforms Appel Street in Surfers Paradise into a showcase of the Gold Coast’s hottest musical and artistic talents with three stages of entertainment, tapa-style foods and the ever-popular Suitcase Rummage!
After The Oneway Street Party be sure to check out SIPfest! The “Shorts in Paradise Film Festival” will be at Neal Shannon Park by the Ferris Wheel next to the Oneway Street Party. Pull up a beanbag and watch local budding cinematographers on the big screen under the stars with a panel of industry experts dishing out the accolades.
