Weather

The weather in Alice Springs and the Ayers Rock region is known for its extreme temperatures.

Sun Safety

Money

Across Australia, the official currency is the Australian dollar. Most places accept the major credit cards, American Express, MasterCard, Diners Club and Visa. However it would be prudent to have some cash in hand as well ATMs and Currency Converters can be found in the airport as well as in some of the resorts.

GST

A 10% Goods and Services Tax is added to most items that you purchase and is included in the display price. Visitors to Australia may be issued a refund at the airport for the GST of goods over $300 purchased within 30 days of leaving Australia.

Tipping
