SKYWALK AND SKYJUMP COMBO
Experience two of the most thrilling and popular attractions in Auckland with the SkyWalk and SkyJump Combo! In one day, you can take a zoomy ride up to the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest tower, the Auckland Sky Tower; step out onto a platform at 192 metres above ground and walk a narrow walkway around the exterior of the tower; and, as a grand finale, jump right now and drop straight to the ground!
Gear up in your custom full-body suit and safety harness, ride the speedy elevator and, now 192 metres up in the iconic Auckland Sky Tower, prepare for your SkyWalk! Be exhilarated as you take your first steps onto the 1.2 metre wide walkway high above the stunning city of Auckland. On this narrow path, walk around the exterior of the building – with no handles or railings for support, just open air around you – and take in the views that reach 80km in every direction!
After the incredibly scenic and invigorating SkyWalk, it is time for the more extreme tower experience—the SkyJump! On the same area of the tower, you are attached to a wire and base jump off of it! Flying at 85kph, drop 192 metres straight down, before safely landing at the Sky City plaza below. Push yourself to new heights (then jump off them!) with the SkyWalk and SkyJump Combo!

SkyJump FAQ's
HOW CAN I FIND SKYJUMP HQ?
Basically look up, spot the big needle looking building and bound towards it! If you need a physical address for the lovely lady on the GPS then try the cornor of Federal and Victoria Streets, Auckland. Once you reach the Sky Tower, take the escalators DOWN to check in at our batcave aka 'Mission Control', located underground in the base of the Sky Tower.
HOW SAFE IS SKYJUMP? IS IT SCARY??
Feeling a little nervous are we?? ... Well this is one thing you don't have to worry about! SkyJump is OSH approved and very rigorous safety standards are upheld. SkyJump is an adventure activity with a very low real risk but very high perceived risk, so as the saying goes - it's mind over matter!
Is it scary? ... Um I'm going to say yes! You are, after all, jumping off a perfectly good tower to fall 192 metres towards the ground, so yes, it is scary but that's the point really isn't it?
ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS OR RESTRICTIONS TO THE SKYJUMP EXPERIENCE?
• The maximum weight limit is 122kgs. • There is a minimum age of 10, but no maximum age - in fact our oldest jumper to date is an 91 year old woman!! • People with heart problems should consult their physician. • Pregnant women are unable to partake in SkyJump for the health and safety of you and your unborn child.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
It’s not the red carpet so you can leave your number ones at home, nappies are optional …!
Comfortable clothing and lace up shoes is all you need, we supply you with and kit you up in the custom SkyJump flying suit and full body harness. As much as you’ll look like a superhero you won’t have any superhuman strength/spidey toes to hold on loose-fitting footwear and we don’t want to see your jandals flying over Auckland city or hitting innocent pedestrians so …… if you do happen to forget your lace up shoes we do have some spare ones you can borrow, obviously not the crews, we need them.
IS THERE A SECURE PLACE TO PUT MY PERSONAL ITEMS WHILE I JUMP?
There sure is, each jumper will have access to their own personal locker in which we get you to dump everything out of your pockets, including coins and any loose items (yes this includes cameras, jewellery and the occasional tissue). No need to bring the will, you can leave that one in your safe deposit box ….
HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHERE CAN MY SUPPORT CREW WATCH FROM?
From check-in at Mission Control to waving goodbye to our crew with an adrenaline fuelled grin from ear to ear, the SkyJump experience takes around 30-45 minutes. Those that encounter nerves on the ledge, 192 metres up, may take a little longer! Your friends and family are more than welcome to come along to watch you as you complete your SkyJump. We’ll take them out to our landing platform for no charge where they can watch you glide down and land gracefully on your feet …. Or not so gracefully. A live feed of the view up the top and our crew will keep them informed of your progress.
CAN I GET PROOF?
We have a photo and USB package available for purchase after your jump. Our SkyJump Masters will attach a GoPro camera to your wrist before heading out on the SkyJump Platform 192 metres up that records your jump from start to finish. It’s really up to you what you wish to record’ your face as you jump off a perfectly good tower, the stunning views or choose just to forget about it and fling your arms out in sheer joy to get a mixture of the two. The video also has sound so maybe keep that in mind if you want children to relive the SkyJump with you!! The photos consist of a shot on the platform of you with a super fake confident grin, and one mid-air at the beginning of your jump. The price for the USB package is $65 (all digital photos and movie file on the USB plus your printed photos). If you just wish to purchase your two printed photos then we have this available for $30.
WHAT IF ONCE ISN’T ENOUGH?
Once is never enough! If you bring back your certificate for the SkyJump then you can relive the adrenaline rush for only 75 bucks … and by that we mean $75 NZ dollars not 75 male antlered animals! Or you can always purchase the USB package with the GoPro footage of your SkyJump and relive it again and again in the comfort of your own home.
WHAT IF I CHICKEN OUT AFTER I’VE PAID?
You’ll have to come down the tower in the lift to meet your support crew who may or may not have purchased you a chicken t-shirt! Hey, it happens…. but not that often as we don’t offer refunds. Instead you’ll receive a politically correct Non-Jumper voucher which allows you to try the jump one more time in the next 6 months but if you’re totally freaked out you can transfer the voucher to another lucky person... perhaps the one making the loudest chicken noises!
WHAT ARE YOUR OPERATING DAYS/TIMES AND WHATS THE DEAL WITH WEATHER?
SkyJump is open from 10.00am to 5.15pm every day of the year (wind and weather permitting), except Christmas Day, December 25th … yes, even legends like us need a day off! If it’s blowing a gale out there (over 70km/hr) or other extreme weather, then the SkyJump does not operate. Fortunately this doesn’t happen often and a little wind is great for those wanting to add a little more thrill to the experience.
CAN YOU GIVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER OF THE JUMP MASTER?
Ummmm I’m going to go with no on this one, but check out our staff profiles on our Facebook page!!
DO I GET A DISCOUNT IF I DO SKYWALK AS WELL?
Shh, only if you use the secret password ….. Look n Leap. We have a combo deal for those daredevils willing to take on a double whammy challenge. To do both the SkyWalk and SkyJump it will take about 2 hours to complete and set you back $290 NZD. For those not in the know the SkyWalk is a walk on a 1.2 metre wide walkway around Auckland’s famous Sky Tower – sounds easy right? Well just to add to this casual stroll you are 192 metres above the ground with no handrails and nothing but air on either side of you! A harness and overhead railing prevent SkyWalkers from swinging off the edge whilst enjoying spectacular views of Auckland as a guide points out the city’s famous landmarks.

HOW SAFE IS SKYWALK?
Auckland’s SkyWalk has been independently approved by a certified engineer and very rigorous safety standards are upheld. SkyWalk is an adventure activity with a very low real risk but very high perceived risk.
Each ‘SkyWalker’ has two safety tethers from their harness, up to the overhead rail. One safely tether is a climbing rope designed as a failsafe. The other tether is a seatbelt-type retraction system that allows the tether to be adjusted to your individual height. This means that if you do step off the pergola, you simply swing back like a pendulum.
COULD I DROP SOMETHING OVER THE SIDE ACCIDENTALLY?
No chance! During your SkyWalk experience, you wear a coverall type suit that prevents objects from being released. We also check you for objects like coins etc during the gear-up process to ensure you don't carry any loose items.
WHAT IF THE WIND IS STRONG?
SkyWalk, at the top of the Sky Tower, has very strict cut-off limits for wind. We also have a minimum weight restriction of 45kgs in winds over 45 km/h.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE?
10 years old. In fact, SkyWalk is actually an awesome educational tour and Auckland activity for special interest school groups! (Please note: written parental consent is required for all people aged 10-14 years.)
ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS OR RESTRICTIONS?
SkyWalk is designed to carry a maximum weight of 130kg.
The only physical requirement for SkyWalk is the ability to reliably walk around the pergola. SkyWalk, Auckland, has created a way for people with some physical limitations to participate in a SkyWalk by using a Hand Gliding harness, where you can simply harness in and 'glide' around. Not everyone is able to do this. Contact us here at Auckland’s SkyWalk and we will be able to asses if it is right for you. You can also check out our page on Disabled Access to SkyWalk, here. People with heart problems should consult their physician.
You don’t have to bring anything with you as we provide all equipment. But we do need you to wear shoes. Loose-fitting footwear is not acceptable as we don’t want to see your jandals flying over the city or hitting innocent pedestrians!

CAN PREGNANT WOMEN DO THE SKYWALK?
For the health and safety of you and your unborn baby we are unable to take pregnant women on the SkyWalk.
I’VE ALREADY DONE THE SKYJUMP – IS THE SKYWALK JUST AS SCARY?
Yes! You’re on the edge a lot longer and having to walk on your ‘jelly legs’ (but at least you don’t have to jump!). Click here to visit the Auckland SkyJump website!
HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED?
From check in at Mission Control, to waving our team goodbye with a huge smile on your dial, the SkyWalk experience takes around 75 minutes. The perfect Auckland tourist attraction for those on a schedule!
ARE THERE ANY OTHER SIMILAR OPERATIONS AROUND THE WORLD?
This is very different to BridgeClimb and SkyWalk in Sydney – they have handrails and so do not have anything like the same feeling of danger and exposure! It is similar to SkyWalk in Macau though, which has been operating for about two years.
WHAT ARE YOUR OPERATING DAYS AND TIMES?
SkyWalk is open 10.00am to 4.30pm daily, plus twilight tours are available by prior arrangement.
We’re also open every day of the year (wind and weather permitting), except Christmas Day, December 25th. SkyWalk adventures depart every 20 minutes with a maximum of six SkyWalkers each trip.
