Adelaide is a picturesque city that sits adjacent to the large waterway of the Gulf of St. Vincent, with the city's harbour and port seeing significant traffic, both industrial and commercial, with the city itself sporting a nice balance between urban buildup and the well-maintained greenery of parks, botanic gardens, and other natural features. The Central Business District around Adelaide station is isolated to a single, large block that then extends out to the city's other suburbs which ring around it outwardly and stretch to the coast in the West and the hinterland in the East.

Adelaide has an efficient public transport network that incorporates a system of trams, providing additional options for navigating South Australia's capital. Transport is also available from Adelaide to Cape Jervis, which serves as a natural springboard to the nearby wildlife wonderland that is Kangaroo Island - one of the area's most popular tourist destinations. Adelaide's airport is located on the South-West side of the city, close to the large suburb of Glenelg.
